Privacy Policy

sportsrooms helps people find and host pickup games (pickleball, tennis, and golf). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Account: your name and email address, provided through our sign-in provider, Clerk.
• Profile you choose to add: display name, gender, birth year, bio, photo, home area, the sports and skill levels you play, and what you're here for (serious games, casual play, or meeting new people).
• Activity: games you host or join, attendance, and reliability counters (games played, no-shows, late cancels).
• Game chat: messages you send in a game's chat. They are visible only to that game's players, and your messages are deleted with your account.
• Location: if you allow it, your device location is used to center the map and find nearby courts. Coordinates are sent with search requests; we don't keep a location history.
• Verification video: if you choose to get verified, a short selfie video you record in the app. It's reviewed by our team to confirm you're a real person, is never shown to other players, and is deleted as soon as the review is complete — approved or not, we don't keep it.
• Device: a push-notification token, if you enable notifications.
• Reports: reports you file about other players, and reports filed about you.

How we use it

• Running the service: showing games on the map, rosters, and player cards to other players.
• Notifications about your games (joins, cancellations, reminders, host announcements).
• Safety and moderation: handling reports, blocks, and suspensions. Profile photos are automatically screened for inappropriate content when uploaded, and public names (display names, game and court names) are checked for offensive language.

We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.

What other players see

Your display name, photo, bio, what you're here for, sports and skill levels, join date, whether your profile is verified, and reliability stats (games completed, no-shows, late cancels). Your email, gender, birth year, home location, and verification video are never shown to other players.

Services we rely on

• Clerk — sign-in and account management.
• Cloudinary — stores profile photos (screening them for inappropriate content with Amazon Rekognition) and processes verification videos.
• Google Maps Platform — court search (your search text and map coordinates are sent to Google).
• Expo — push notification delivery.
• Railway — hosting and database.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your login and personal data, cancels upcoming games you host, and frees your spot in games you joined. Your name is removed from past game rosters ("Deleted player"). We keep moderation reports for safety, without your profile data attached. No longer have the app? See how to request deletion by email.
